What’s been happening:

In January 2007 our family moved from Cabot, PA to Corning, IA to seek our fortune in agricultural avenues. We now have a family farm and raise grain crops as well as beef cattle. The children (Michael, 10 and Emily, 7 as of July 2009) have both adapted well to the slower-paced lifestyle and smaller classroom sizes. Although it's been difficult being a long distance from family members, the benefits of this change have outweighed the hardships. However, make no mistake-a great deal of prayer went into this decision. My husband Curt is now parts manager at a John Deere dealership in the nearby town of Lenox. I am a bookkeeper and marketing coordinator at a local bank in Corning. Also, our stock of pets has grown, now that we have a great deal more room in which to house them all. I am a member of the Iowa Bankers Association Marketing Committee. I have served as a Cub Scout leader from 2004 until just this May, and take an active part in Emily's Brownie activities, Michael's Boy Scout events, and both children's 4-H clubs. I'll be teaching Sunday School this year at Redeemer Lutheran Church, and will be active with the church youth group now that Michael is old enough to participate. Who ever said things would be slower in Iowa? We love the community involvement, local activities and general neighborliness of the area. Think Iowa is just corn? Come check us out!
